A former President of her Local Association of Realtors, she has also served at the state level as head of "Consumer Protection" and currently serves as a legal expert in real estate trials, representing buyers, sellers and brokerage firms.

As a mother of four boys and three girls, negotiating skills were honed daily. Barbara was a leader in a large landowner crusade in the mid-1980's, representing homeowners against a local "land giant". As one of 13 negotiators and ONLY 2 women women, she was involved in negotiating the largest private land settlement in U.S. history to date at that time.
